About Keep California Green and Golden

Keep California Green and Golden (KCGG) began with the vision of Paisley Robles, a Palo Alto High School student who refused to stand by while pollution threatened the California she loves. What started as one teenager’s passion project has grown into a statewide movement to protect our coastlines, baylands, and wild spaces.

Paisley’s Mission

Paisley founded KCGG with a bold goal: to restore and protect California’s beauty. One piece of trash at a time. Her leadership reflects the belief that young people are not just the future of environmental change, but the force making it happen now.

Through her Golden State Cleanup Blog, she shares the deeper story about why it matters, how to help and other stories of impact.

Paisley’s vision is clear. Educate, inspire, and empower people everywhere to take ownership of their environment.

Leading With Action

Paisley believes change is measured not in words but in results. Under her leadership, KCGG is committed to removing:

  • 2 metric tons of trash every month

  • 24 metric tons every year from California’s most threatened environments

She rallies volunteers through:

  • Regular Cleanup Days — every other weekend across the state

  • Focused Impact — prioritizing coastlines and baylands where pollution does the most harm

  • Community Building — uniting students, families, and groups who share her passion for a cleaner future

Our Vision: A Truly Green and Golden State

California’s landscapes are world-renowned—redwood forests, deserts, coastlines, and wetlands that sustain both people and wildlife. But these places are under constant threat from pollution.

We envision a future where every Californian plays a role in protecting our home, where our beaches, baylands, and wild spaces remain clean, healthy, and vibrant—for this generation and the next.
